紧急 Preparedness Program
Public Health threats can be caused by 自然, 意外, or 故意的意思. The purpose of the 紧急 Preparedness Program is to strengthen and enhance the capability of the community to prepare for, respond to and recover from health related threats. Our goal is to save lives by strengthening and enhancing the readiness of 达勒姆郡 公民, 当地的 public health and health care partners.
The all hazards threat planning approach is accomplished by working with 当地的, 区域, 状态. A coordinated approach to preparing for and responding to health-related emergencies increases efficiency by leveraging resources.
To ensure public health is prepared for all types of hazardous threats, the health department does the following:
- Launch public health responder notifications
- Require Incident Command System Training
- 保持一个 Respiratory Protection Program
- Partner with 当地的 business to become Closed Points of Dispensing Partners
- 开发 and Revise 紧急 Public Health Response Plans
- Participate in exercises with other Response Agencies

Preparing for Severe Weather: Summer
酷热 can cause heat-related illnesses like heat exhaustion and heat stroke. More than 600 people in the United States are killed by extreme heat every year. Read below for helpful tips and information on staying safe this summer.

- Move the person to a cooler place
